Horizontal Milling Centers (HMCs) are high-production machines that offer cost-effective setups and shorter turnaround times while enhancing accuracy through additional milling on a B-Axis. Unlike Vertical CNC Milling, an HMC’s spindle is oriented on a horizontal axis of rotation, parallel to the work surface. Instead of the familiar T-slot milling table, it features a square “pallet” precisely fitted to a B-Axis turntable. A fixture column mounted to the pallet provides a vertical surface where fixture plates or vises can secure workpieces. Meanwhile, the B-Axis can be rotated to present different faces to the spindle, enabling the machining of multiple sides of a part within a single fixture and program.

Renishaw OMP40 Spindle Probe – At JACO Machine Works, Quality is paramount. Equipping our Horizontal CNC machines with this sophisticated sensor allows accurate verification of part accuracy, detection of any deviations, and automatic adjustment of machining parameters as necessary.
High-Pressure Coolant Thru Spindle – Our Horizontal CNC machines incorporate a high-pressure coolant thru spindle system to prolong tool life and minimize thermal distortion. When the tool engages the workpiece, a focused stream of coolant directly cools the cutting edge ensuring excellent surface quality.

These critical components undergo meticulous machining processes within our automated horizontal machining cells which run overnight. The next day, our programmable Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) inspects the finished parts for quality assurance. Tumble finishing, sub-assembly, and Citric Passivation are performed in-house to complete the process.
